One Piece Episode 72: A Dirty Trick in a Sacred Battle

One Piece is a popular anime series based on the manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who dreams of becoming the king of all pirates. Along with his crew of Straw Hat Pirates, he explores the Grand Line, a vast ocean where the legendary treasure One Piece is hidden.

In episode 72, Luffy and his crew encounter two giants, Dorry and Broggy, who have been fighting each other for a hundred years on Little Garden, an island that resembles the prehistoric era. The giants respect each other as honorable warriors and follow a strict code of conduct in their duels. However, their battle is interrupted by a dirty trick from Mr. 3, one of the agents of Baroque Works, a criminal organization that is after Luffy’s bounty.

Mr. 3 secretly plants a bomb inside a barrel of ale that Luffy gives to Dorry as a gift. The bomb explodes when Dorry drinks it, injuring him and making him lose his balance. Broggy sees this as an opportunity to strike and delivers a powerful blow to Dorry’s head, knocking him out. Broggy is overjoyed by his victory, but soon realizes that something is wrong. He accuses Luffy and his crew of interfering in their sacred battle and attacks them with his axe.

Meanwhile, Zoro and Nami are lost in the jungle and encounter a giant dinosaur. They manage to escape by using Zoro’s swords and Nami’s wits. However, they are soon captured by Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine, another pair of Baroque Works agents who have the ability to create explosions with their bodies. They are taken to Mr. 3’s hideout, where they meet Vivi and Usopp, who have also been captured.

Mr. 3 reveals his plan to create a giant wax sculpture of the two giants and the four Straw Hats as a masterpiece of art. He uses his Devil Fruit power to create wax from his body and traps them in a giant cake-shaped mold. He tells them that they have only ten minutes before the wax hardens and kills them.

Back at the giant cake, Luffy tries to free himself and his friends from the wax by stretching his arms and legs. He manages to reach a nearby candle and sets his feet on fire. He then kicks the wax mold, creating a hole for him and his crew to escape. However, Mr. 3 notices this and orders Mr. 5 to stop them.

Mr. 5 uses his explosive breath to attack Luffy, but Luffy dodges and punches him in the face. Mr. 5 is surprised that Luffy can hit him despite his explosive body. Luffy explains that he is a rubber man and that he ate the Gum-Gum Fruit, a type of Devil Fruit that gives him the ability to stretch like rubber.

Mr. 3 then uses his wax power to create a giant sword and attacks Luffy with it. Luffy blocks the sword with his arms, but the wax starts to harden around them. Mr. 3 tells Luffy that he ate the Wax-Wax Fruit, another type of Devil Fruit that allows him to create and manipulate wax.

Luffy realizes that he is in trouble and tries to break free from the wax. He tells Zoro to cut the sword with his own swords, but Zoro is too busy fighting Miss Valentine, who can change her weight at will. She jumps on Zoro’s back and crushes him with her 10,000 kilogram weight.

Meanwhile, Usopp tries to help Vivi by shooting a firework at Mr. 3’s head. However, Mr. 3 dodges and creates a wax wall to block the firework. He then creates a wax key and inserts it into his head, activating his special technique: Candle Champion.

Mr. 3 transforms into a giant wax knight with a shield and a lance. He charges at Luffy and stabs him in the chest, piercing through his rubber body. Luffy falls to the ground, seemingly defeated.
