• Muhurt Karane: This is a ritual where the bride’s mother invites five married women to her house and they start making turmeric powder and sandege (a mixture of pulses and spices) in a mortar and pestle. These items are used later in the wedding ceremonies for purification and blessings.
• Kelvan: This is a pre-wedding feast hosted by both the families for their close relatives. The bride and groom are treated with delicious food and sweets as a gesture of hospitality and affection.
