The Story and Characters of Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars
The game takes place in a world called Aterra, where monsters called Dusk Beasts have been attacking the people for decades. The only ones who can fight them are the Disciples, young men and women who have been blessed with the power of the Star God. The Disciples are trained at the Academy, a school located in Fort City, the last bastion of humanity.
You play as a new Disciple who arrives at the Academy and discovers that you have a special ability called God’s Gift. This means that you have a very high amount of Ether, the energy that powers the Star God’s Brand. This allows you to create an Ether field that enables you and other Disciples to enter the Dusk Circles, the source of the Dusk Beasts. It also allows you to perform a ritual called Classmating with the female Disciples, which results in the creation of Star Children, powerful beings that can fight alongside you in battle.
There are seven female Disciples that you can Classmate with, each with their own personality, background, and story arc. They are:
- Fuuko Amicus: A cheerful and friendly girl who is your first Classmate partner. She is an S-rank Disciple and an expert mechanic who can create and repair Matryoshkas.
- Chloe Genus: A calm and intelligent girl who is the student council president. She is an A-rank Disciple and a genius researcher who studies the Dusk Circles.
- Serina Leaf: A petite and energetic girl who is always hungry. She is a B-rank Disciple and a master chef who can cook delicious meals.
- Narika Shina: A shy and timid girl who is the vice president of the student council. She is a B-rank Disciple and a skilled archer who can use a bow and arrow.
- Torri Feiiji: A mysterious and quiet girl who wears a mask. She is a C-rank Disciple and a talented singer who can use her voice as a weapon.
- Ellie Troit: A playful and mischievous girl who loves to tease others. She is a C-rank Disciple and a gifted magician who can use various spells.
- Feene Glass: A gentle and kind girl who is very popular among the students. She is an S-rank Disciple and a powerful healer who can use light magic.
As you progress through the game, you will get to know each of these girls better and develop your relationship with them. You will also encounter other characters such as Chlotz Genus, Chloe’s younger brother and your best friend; Mark Flask, your rival and a fellow God’s Gift; Alec Marker, your mentor and instructor; Ruka Landy, your boss and headmistress; Luce, your mysterious guide; Ruby Coiler, your cheerful informant; Reone Tina, your strict examiner; Mora Faynne, your shady supplier; Lillith Arkwright, your curious observer; Enzea Bitterblack, your enemy and leader of the Dusk Spawner; and many more.
The game has a branching storyline that changes depending on your choices and actions. You can choose which female Disciple to focus on and pursue romantically, which will affect the events and endings that you will see. You can also choose how to respond to different situations and dialogues, which will affect your reputation and bond with the girls. You can also choose which dungeons to explore and which quests to complete, which will affect your progress and rewards. The game has multiple endings for each heroine, as well as a true ending that reveals the secrets behind the Dusk Circles and the Star God.
