As they enter the palace, Asta and his group are greeted by a mysterious voice that tells them that they are too late and that the elves have already gathered all the magic stones needed for their spell. The voice also reveals that the palace is divided into nine rooms, each connected to a different gate. The voice warns them that they will face powerful enemies in each room and that they will not be able to return to the previous room once they enter a new one.
Asta and his group decide to split up into four teams: Asta, Mimosa, and Noelle; Finral, Vanessa, and Charmy; Luck, Magna, and Sally; and Gauche, Gordon, and Grey. They each enter a different gate and find themselves in different rooms with different environments. They also encounter different elves who have taken over the bodies of some of the Magic Knights they know.
In one room, Asta’s team faces off against Rill Boismortier, the captain of the Azure Deer squad, who has been possessed by an elf named Lira. Lira uses his Painting Magic to create various creatures and attacks with his magic. Asta tries to use his Anti Magic to negate Lira’s spells, but Lira proves to be a formidable opponent who can adapt to any situation. Mimosa and Noelle support Asta with their healing and water magic, respectively.
In another room, Finral’s team encounters Langris Vaude, Finral’s younger brother and vice-captain of the Golden Dawn squad, who has been possessed by an elf named Ratri. Ratri uses his Spatial Magic to create deadly blades and spheres that can cut through anything. Finral tries to use his own Spatial Magic to counter Ratri’s attacks, but Ratri’s magic is much stronger and faster than Finral’s. Vanessa and Charmy try to help Finral with their Thread Magic and Cotton Magic, respectively.
In yet another room, Luck’s team faces off against Klaus Lunettes and Hamon Caseus, two senior members of the Golden Dawn squad, who have been possessed by two elves named Lufulu and Drowa. Lufulu uses his Lightning Magic to create powerful bolts and beams of electricity, while Drowa uses his Glass Magic to create mirrors and lenses that can reflect and amplify magic. Luck tries to use his own Lightning Magic to fight back, but Lufulu’s magic is much more intense and destructive than Luck’s. Magna and Sally try to help Luck with their Fire Magic and Gel Magic, respectively.
In the last room, Gauche’s team encounters Dorothy Unsworth, the captain of the Coral Peacock squad, who has been possessed by an elf named Reve. Reve uses her Dream Magic to trap Gauche’s team in her Glamour World, a dimension where she can manipulate anything with her imagination. Gauche tries to use his Mirror Magic to escape from Reve’s world, but Reve’s magic is too powerful and unpredictable for Gauche to handle. Gordon and Grey try to help Gauche with their Poison Magic and Transformation Magic, respectively.
